What to expect at a meeting & How to Register

It was as a result of being a bereaved parent myself in 1994 that I became aware of the need for specific support for parents at this traumatic time.

This eventually prompted me to train as a Counsellor Therapist and has been my full time job since 2004, currently with HSE. In that time I have met and supported many people during their bereavement journeys, via 1:1 sessions and also in groups.

I believe that the support experienced within peer groups is extremely valuable and very unique, which most people find invaluable. It is from having this perspective that I was drawn into my work with Anam Cara, which I see as a privilege and honour to be part of.

Meetings throughout the island of Ireland

These are open to all bereaved parents with an emphasis on peer support. We also facilitate additional online bereavement support evenings with featured guests speakers who give an insightful talk about parental grief. If you are recently bereaved, these provide a gentle introduction to our services. With the easing of the pandemic restrictions, we really hope you will consider attending one of our events in the future.
